Shaap Curry Food Festival at Park Residency Hotel, Kakkanad

“Shappile Curriyum, Navilae Ruchiyum” is the tangy name of the ‘Shaap Curry’ buffet food festival currently on at the Park Residency Hotel, Kakkanad. Going by the responses so far, the festival is a hit with lovers of typical Kerala cuisine who have booked to come back with friends and family.

Shap Curry refers to the typical style of curries served in toddy shops of Kerala. The stress is on the freshness, the sharp and highlighted tastes. It is with Shap Curry that you get to enjoy a cuisine from a land rich in varied spices. The hottest chilies like the ‘Kandhari’, loads of hot pepper, cardamom, cloves, the freshest ginger and turmeric give the cuisine its traditional sophisticated taste. The fish and meat curries usually have the special tanginess of kokum, bilimbi (‘irumban puli’) and tamarind.
